Tennis at Sussex is entering an exciting new phase. For many years we have played intra-University tournaments, and friendly matches against other clubs.

This year we have been recognised as a successful and thriving club with full club status. We have also entered the BUCs league for the first time this year.

We have both a men’s and women’s team entered into the South East division of BUCs league and are looking forward to some fantastic results this season. We will be playing matches home and away on Wednesday afternoons. The home matches will take place on the tennis courts across the sports fields up at Falmer Sports Complex.

Although this year will take the club to another level as we start to play competitively, last year was also hugely successful. Last year saw us compete in local ‘friendly’ matches with lots of success. Most notable of which was our Varsity win over Brighton, which shows the huge potential the club has to be successful in league tennis.

Away for match-play tennis, the club also runs social tennis as a central part of the club. This is chance for new players to be noticed and train with the team, but also a chance for players of all abilities to come along and have a bit of fun! New players are always welcome, so feel free to come along every Saturday (weather permitting!) at 2pm on the courts at Falmer Sports Complex.

We also have a thriving social scene for our members. Nights out in Brighton are an important part of the social side of the club and gives people the chance to get to know each other off court. We often dress up and head out into town to have a few drinks and a bit of a laugh!
