DMA’S have released their highly anticipated new album How Many Dreams? Which sees the band take a new direction as they weave elements of electronic dance music into their beloved foundations of rock.

How Many Dreams? follows their highest charting album THE GLOW (2020) which peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts, #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart and #1 in Scotland.

With this, the new album showcases the band’s growth and evolution as musicians. It’s a perfect blend of their signature sound and new experimental elements that make for a refreshing and exciting listening experience and one that will be warmly welcomed by their many fans across the country.

How Many Dreams? Opens with the title track – a synth-laden belter that will be a guaranteed hit in their live shows. Energy is injected right from the off with a feeling of optimism that follows on splendidly from THE GLOW.

With atmospheric phased funky guitars and groovy drumbeats, the band inject electronic elements and tease the potential of doing a complete genre switch in years to come.

However, whilst the band experiment with new sounds on this record, the Aussie trio remain themselves with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses. Tracks such as Olympia and Fading Like A Picture serve up that ‘classic DMA’S’ sound with electrifying guitar fuelled anthems ready to hit festival stages this summer.

The talent of vocalist, Tommy O’Dell shines through beautifully on this record as his voice is given space to stand out with the stripped back piano fuelled track Jai Alai and over the cinematic and heart-warming strings on Forever

The three-piece made up of Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason, and Johnny Took have bought to life a record that is ready to rock stages up and down the country. With the album, the band are embarking on a full UK tour which will see them play their biggest London headline show to date at Wembley OVO Arena. They also return in the summer for festival slots at Truck, Y Not, Tramlines, Live At Leeds and more.

DMA’S bring the party to the record with closing track De Carle – A song that highlights the bands evolution and may be the start of a full transition into the world of EDM music. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this track had been released by the likes of The Chemical Brothers with its pulsing break combining perfectly with O’Dell’s vocals.

This is an album for fans both old and new as the band take an explorative and positive direction that has resulted in a collection of tracks filled to the brim with high energy bangers that make you want to dance. It leaves me excited to see where DMA’S can take this new sound and I can’t wait to catch them live very soon!
