Less than three months after stepping off stage in front of over 20,000 fans in Tampa, USA, legendary Iron Maiden bassist and icon of British music Steve Harris is ready to embark on another tour. British Lion are ringing in 2023 by bringing fans of rock and metal across the UK an 11-date tour ranging from Glasgow to Dover, including a night at Brighton’s Concorde II on January 15th – their first show in Brighton since 2014.
The band, founded by Harris in 2012, has developed a reputation for peerless live performances, with Metaltalk saying of their 2021 performance at Download that “British Lion captivates, hearts very much on their sleeves… [with] music as thrilling as it is muscular”. Since the release of their sophomore album The Burning in 2020, British Lion’s identity has grown into that of a sophisticated, heavy band that has won over a devoted fanbase across the globe. With songs ranging from the haunting imagery of A World Without Heaven to the pulse-pounding Lightning and City Of Fallen Angels, the band brings a varied array of melodic styles and lyrical themes to every performance, all inspiring the audience to share a sense of unity and camaraderie with the band, and with each other.
With Harris and drummer Simon Dawson laying down the rhythm, guitarists David Hawkins and Graham Leslie giving it their all every night with killer riffs and solos, and vocalist Richard Taylor pouring heart and soul into every lyric, British Lion provide a night to remember, and an opportunity not to be missed. With their boundless energy and commitment to leaving every audience member with a smile on their face, this tour will surely be one that brings new fans to the band’s fold.
