Ah, Freshers. You’ve no idea the amazing year you have ahead of you!

As you read this now, you’ve probably met your flatmates and maybe even met your future best friend. If your flatmates are a dud, do not fret! You’ll find your tribe soon enough. Perhaps at one of the incredible societies we feature in our Freshers’ edition exclusive Societies pullout?

Why not make one of those societies The Badger? We’re a team of dedicated, award-winning student journalists who are always looking for fresh faces to join our set of badgers.

We provide the campus fortnightly with an exciting, jam packed, up-to-date newspaper filled with fresh off the press news, interesting comment and feature articles, and the latest in travel, music, arts, films, theatre, science and sports.

The Freshers’ print edition, available all over campus now, features a variety of exciting articles aimed at both Freshers and returning students. So, tuck into these previews and then go ahead and read the real thing:

Check out the Books section to find some reading recommendations and the best of Brighton’s bookshops: “grab yourself a copy of any of these brilliant books to get a taste of what to expect from university life”.

The Film section has the best tips and tricks for where to go to get the best for your buck: “Brighton is a hub for the arts, and its cinema scene is no different. Cinephiles are served well here, if they know where to look”.

Need a night away from the bars, or just looking for the best performances to take you through to the weekend? Then the Theatre team has you covered: “with the beautiful, vibrant Brighton just minutes away, why not broaden your horizons and experience the magic of the city?”

The Travel and Culture team know what you need to scare off any boredom this autumn, with their guide to the best events in Brighton: “Expect the greatest music, quirky theatre, pub quizzes, artistic and creative showcases and more”.

Need some fun facts to impress your lecturers with? The Science team knows what you need: “summer was a productive time for scientists and innovators around the world as they made discoveries and created solutions for some of the world’s most pressing problems”.

So, if this interests you then please continue to pick up our editions every other Monday!

If you are interested in joining the team then please come to our Freshers’ Fair stall on Wednesday 19 September and our Writers’ Meeting in the Media Office, Falmer House at 12pm on Friday 21 September. You won’t regret it!

You’ll make some amazing friends and gain some incredible experience! Plus we host amazing socials!
