British group Massive Attack are another huge name that have been announced to play British Summertime Hyde Park festival this summer. The trip-hop icons have been confirmed as headliners for Friday 1st July and will perform alongside the legendary artist Patti Smith. Support also comes from the likes of Mercury-Prize winners Young Fathers, TV On The Radio, Warpaint, and Ghostpoet; music fans are in for one of the best line-ups that BST have presented to date.
Massive Attack recently released an EP titled ‘Ritual Spirit’ and embarked on a sold-out tour, so anticipation is already in the air for what is set to be a stunning one-day spectacular event in the heart of the capital. The festival is spread over two weekends and features an array of activities and things to see and do. If you fancy escaping from the music for a bit, you’ll be able to catch a film at the open-air cinema, whilst munching on street food, but the fun doesn’t end there.
Alun Mainwaring, Head of Events at The Royal Parks, commented: “The line-up for 2016 just keeps on getting better. Having a huge group like Massive Attack kick off this year’s event is a fitting start to what promises to be another unforgettable 10 days of entertainment. The success of this event is so important to us as it raises vital funds which go back into conserving and enhancing the iconic park for all to enjoy.”
The band join a line-up of impressive headliners for this year’s festival, including the likes of Florence & The Machine, Stevie Wonder, and Take That. The iconic Bristol duo are set to bring their glittering and provocative audio-visual delight of a live show to Hyde Park this summer and it’s not one you want to be missing.
Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will run from 1st-10th July. Tickets starts at £59.50 – £65.00. For more info, please go to www.bst-hydepark.com.
