The band is fronted by the ever so irresistible Karen Anne, and backed by her songwriting partners, bassist James Watts, drummer Fred West and guitarist Charlie Snelling, Ramona claim they take inspiration from the sounds of New York City. They crush the proto-punk roar of The Ramones, the icy new wave shimmer of Blondie and the sultry cool of The Strokes or Vivian Girls into a true modern pop gemstone.

Playing on tour back in July with a rapturously received show at London’s leading day festival Wireless, where they shared the bill with the likes of Pink, Gossip and The Tings Tings, the band showcased their music before moving on to play a set of regional shows and also the mighty T in the Park festival.

Another thing to look forward to is Ramona’s self-titled debut album, due in the new year, Karen promises “all very short songs, a lot of energy. They’re all very catchy.

Ramona have caused a huge stir in their local musical circles with their modern take on the classic new wave sound. Their early recordings and live shows have earned them a dedicated, fast growing fanbase who have waited patiently for this first, official Ramona release, and who will no doubt turn out in force for these shows.
