Those who come within proximity of Library Square will have noticed that Sussex University’s Christmas Tree has been erected.

Workers laboured throughout the day on November 17 to install and decorate the tree ahead of the annual Christmas Tree Ceremony. They could be seen trimming the tree and taking up flagstones where the giant fir will sit.

The tree will be lit on December 7 when, from 4 pm, staff, students and alumni will be offered complimentary mince pies and mulled wine.

The event, supported by the Development and Alumni Relations Office, has been popular in the past so do join the mince pie and wine queue early!

Attendees will be treated to performances from Sussex Big Band and the Performing Arts Group Choir who will appear under the Christmas tree. With the weather getting colder, it is advisable for those attending the event to layer up, especially when waiting for warm, mulled wine.
