Maria Brook has worked as a technician in Physics for nine years. She said the support staff were effectively being downgraded. “The divide between us and those on [pay] grade seven and above is getting wider and wider,” she said. “At other universities they’ve actually moved lower staff onto the faculty pension, and here they won’t even consider it.”
