Since the series started in 2001, the honour to compile a fabriclive is like receiving a knighthood in the dance world. This time it’s the turn of bloggers’ favourite Sinden.

The CD starts off with an old skool house and hip-hop theme with the likes of Yo! Majesty, Armand Van Helden and the brilliant ‘Have a good time’ by Aquasky, which is mixed with Sinden’s trademark rolling bassline and two step beat. The inclusion of world music meets dance music with tracks such as ‘African Chant’, ‘Luanda Lisboa’ and current South African stomper ‘Township Funk’ give this compilation a strictly global feel. The album then moves into a dirtier, darker direction, with dubstep from Skream and Caper, and grime from JM, before the blissed-out remix of Roisin Murphy’s ‘Overpowered’ brings back some light after a stagger through London’s underbelly.

Sinden finishes off with some bleepy wonky house and epic techno which, by the time it’s over, feels as though you’ve flown around the electronic world, and the turbulence just made it better.
