If you are looking for something artsy, crafty, and social to join but aren’t sure what, keep Tuesdays and Thursdays free!

Cult Milk (@cultmilk on Instagram) hosts two amazing clubs, which have been a solace for me; ‘Collage Club’ every Tuesday evening at alternating pubs, The Hope and Ruin, on the first and third Tuesday of each month, and The Joker on the second and fourth. You can drop in anytime between 6-9 p.m. or stay for the whole session, come in a group or fly solo, bring nothing but yourself (although magazines are appreciated) and…it’s completely free! It has a great buzz and is a brilliant way to meet new people, helping you unwind and de-stress. Themes are suggested each week as a starting point, but you’re completely free to do your own thing if you prefer. There are no expectations to be brilliant, just come along and make something cool -or super weird- it’s up to you!

‘Art Club’ is a two-hour art and craft session on Thursday, 7-9 p.m., at Helm Gallery on North Street. No art experience or talent (whatever that is) is needed; you only need the desire and willingness to have a go, create something and try something new, from collage to pop-up books to Gelli plate prints. All materials are provided, and all techniques are taught. Tickets cost £15 and are available from the link in Cult Milk’s Instagram bio or via Eventbrite.

Both clubs are focused on encouraging you to get in touch with your creative side, take life a little less seriously and help form connections. Hope to see you there!
