First year students have expressed confusion at the number of rooms on campus which have been left empty this term.
There are currently around 60 student bedrooms left vacant on campus. Numerous students have criticised the provision of accommodation, with one first year media student stating that “some students did not get their first choice when there were free rooms in more popular halls”.
The University has stated that “This is a normal level of vacancies.
“There are various reasons for these current vacancies, like international students not being able to get VISAs or others deciding university is not for them.”
Managers confirmed that they will begin working through the accommodation waiting list shortly.

Students puzzled by empty rooms

  1. I found a place in a uni room just off Lewes Road a week ago when my Landlord let us down over our house from the waiting list and as an overseas fee paying student, the uni didn’t ask me for a years rent upfront unlike my old Landlord 🙂
