Sussex Students’ Union has cancelled their Oktoberfest event, citing low ticket sales.
They issued the following statement about the event:
“It’s with regret that we have to announce the cancellation of Sussex Oktoberfest.
“Unfortunately, sales for the event were lower than we hoped, and it was felt that we weren’t able to deliver an event of the standard that we’d like.
“However, we’re working closely with the bars on campus to ensure that we have special Oktoberfest-themed food and drinks available during October, starting next week.
“Keep an eye on our social media, or pop down to our bars for authentic German biers, traditional food, and the occasional Bavarian playlist!”
The event was due to take place tomorrow.
The Students’ Union has cancelled two events this year, the first being their highly anticipated festival in Falmer House.
