The University of Sussex Student’s Union has announced that one of their biggest events of the year, the Sussex Festival, will be going ahead in April 2018.

The event will be Desert Island Disco themed and will replace last year’s Summer Ball. The festival will be held in multiple different rooms in Falmer House and the surrounding areas of the building and also, at an intriguing secret location which is yet to be announced.

The festival will be the first event of its kind at Sussex to take place across multiple rooms in the Falmer building, and it is rumoured that a mixture of local promoters, clubs and artists will collaborate to provide the different genres of music.

The Badger can confirm that there will be six stages of music, both indoors in Falmer House and also outdoors on surrounding areas on campus, allowing students to experience both the summer festival vibes as well as the indoor club style events.

As yet, the lineup has not been released, however, Native Brighton have reported that the music will cover both live acts and DJs and will also feature a “very well known” headlining act. The full lineup is to be released next Friday on the 9th of March.

Tickets start at £10 but are expected to rise shortly.
