Last week, Show Choir held their first ever Quiz Night in Room 76 to raise money for Partridge House Care Home in Bevendean and their Competition Choir. Over 15 teams turned up to take part and they certainly stretched their imagination with their team names, with some favourites including Quizzy McChoir and Quizzimodo. Hosted by Musical Director Megan Youngs and Competition Manager Cherie Nyota, the quiz included rounds which tested everyone’s range of knowledge, from throwback songs of the 90s with a ‘Beat The Intro’ round, as well as Sussex University trivia. There was even a question dedicated to the number of mozzarella sticks you could buy with your tuition fee – the real questions that need answering.

Maddie Griffiths, a second year Biomedical Science student, tells us how much she loved the Quiz Night. “The atmosphere in Room 76 was so fun and everyone had such a great time raising money for the worthwhile causes. A personal highlight was the ‘Beat The Intro’ round – got to love a throwback track.”

There were an abundance of raffle prizes to be won, from a Pot Noodle and tin of Chilli Con Carne, to a pair of Komedia tickets and Brighton Pier ride passes. The night was a raging success all round, with not only people thoroughly enjoying themselves, but Show Choir managed to raise over £200! Keep your eyes peeled on their social media for their upcoming events, in particular their final East Slope Takeover on Thursday 3rd May.
