Having received upwards of 150 players at the trials, Men’s Football look in excellent shape this year. The first team secured an impressive victory at UCL 1sts in last week’s friendly, whilst the seconds and thirds enjoyed a nine-goal thriller in their friendly. The prospects for this year appear good, with expectations high amongst all three teams that improvements can be made from a fairly average showing last season. Those that have recently been inducted into the Sussex ranks look set to play major roles for their respective teams; Alex Kline received man of the match for the 1sts, an honour enjoyed also by Toby Kolondynski for the seconds, whilst Ed Lyne and James Doku earned high praise for their performances. With the season set to kick off officially this week, the excitement, nerves and anticipation begin to steadily rise.
