Sussex students are amongst those limbering up to cycle to Ethiopia this week, a journey they hope to complete in aid of Maternity Worldwide.

Unlike our intrepid princes, who had to overcome uncompromising terrain and dangerous circumstances, they’ll be doing it all without leaving the comfort of campus. Though they may not be participating in such extreme challenges, the feat is still quite extraordinary. The university gym is one of many across the city that is asking its members to cycle part of the 3,560 miles to Ethiopia in support of Brighton-based charity Maternity Worldwide.

The bike-a-thon will take place from the 17th to the 30th of November. This is an event that is bound to garner a great deal of attention. To get involved, you can simply sign up to your local gym.
